PayPal woesOn May 2, 2010 a buyer bought just over $240 using a credit card from me in two lots. At the end of August I got a notice from PayPal that the credit card company has disputed the charges and wanted their money back. Of course PayPal obliged and withheld the money from my account and wanted to know my side of the story. I'm not going into details except to say I, as the seller, did nothing wrong and feel like PayPal bent over backwards to placate the credit card company instead of standing up for me and any other seller who got caught up in this mess. I did my duty as a seller and responded to the dispute in a timely manor but to no avail, the credit card company quickly charged back the money and charged PayPal a$20 fee for the privilege which was promptly passed on to me. To say I was a little irate is to put it mildly. I called PayPal and once I convinced the nice foreign national that I needed to talk to someone a little more competent closer to home I got a nice lady in the Nebraska offices who told me that PayPal was doing everything in it's power to get my money back from the credit card company but the credit card company may take up to 75 days to process the dispute. I asked her about the extra fees and she took them off of my account - one small victory. The other thing she asked me was did I have a tracking number on the shipment to which I said no - probably my only mistake in this whole mess. She said that if I had a tracking number confirming delivery then I probably would not have lost the money. Later, after I calmed down a bit, I thought about the fact that I got positive feedback for all of the items involved in the disputed shipment. One would think that if a seller receives positive feedback for a lot that a buyer bought that it would constitute delivery and acceptance? To Contact Riverside Stamps:
