Suspect Scott #349, Used Single (6/1/19).
The Scott #349, Double Line Watermarked, Perf 12 Horizontally, Flat Plate Press Vertical Coil. This is a moderately priced stamp with a catalogue value of $125.00. This coil is often faked and can be made from a #344 by adding counterfeit perforations to the top and bottom, from a #344V imperforate vertical coil by adding counterfeit perforations to the top and bottom, from a #332 by trimming the perforations off the left and/or right, and from a #332a booklet stamp by trimming the perforations from the left or right (most likely would be done with a stamp from the first or second row). The watermark is a reversed double line “S” at the bottom and the corresponding “U” at the top that reads horizontal. The horizontal watermark eliminates the possibility of the suspect being a #332a booklet single.
As can be seen from the top image there looks like the possibility of perforation remains on the left side. The image below shows the top perforations copied and rotated and overlaid next to the left edge.
As can be seen the pits and dings on the left side line up perfectly with the overlaid perforations. There is no need to carry on with this analysis. Conclusion: In my opinion the suspect is a Scott #332 with the perforations trimmed from the left and right sides. Reference material used:
