Suspect Scott #351 Used Single.

This coil is often faked he catalog price for an used HH #351 is a modest $300.00 and can be faked by adding perforations to the top and bottom edges of a trimmed imperforate #347, adding horizontal perforations to a #347V imperforate coil or trimming perforations off the left and/or right edges of a fully perforated #335. There is no booklet stamp from which to fake this issue

The watermark is single line “P”, reversed and inverted that reads horizontal. (Fig.1).

Fig. 1

There is no need to go any further with this analysis; the single line watermark proves that the suspect can’t possibly be a #351 since the #351 was printed on double line watermarked paper.

Conclusion: In my opinion the suspect is a #378 that has had the perforations trimmed off on the left side, a natural straight edge showing the guide line on the right and has a Minneapolis Minn. Pre cancel.
