Suspect Scott #386, Used Single (12/20/15).
This is a moderately expensive stamp that catalogues for $100 as a Used single. This stamp can be made by adding perforations to a trimmed imperforate #384, adding perforations to the top and bottom of the #384V imperforate coil, trimming the perforations from the left and/or right edges of a perforated #375 or trimming the perforations from the left or right edges of a #375a booklet pair. The watermark is indistinct due to the intrusion of a heavy cancel.
To be absolutely sure the suspect is not a booklet single the width of the suspect’s frame can be compared to the frame of a known #375a booklet stamp. As can be seen from the image below the suspects frame is substantially narrower than the #375a booklet stamps frame therefore the suspect is from a sheet stamp with a watermark that reads horizontally.
The width of the suspect is 21mm at the top and just over 21mm at the bottom which is close to the ideal 21.5mm. The images below show the suspect overlaid on genuine #374 perforations.
As can be seen the suspects perforations line up well with the genuine perforations. The top perforations gauge out to 11.925 and the bottom perforations gauge out to 12.00. There are possible perforation remains on the right side.
Conclusion: In my opinion the suspect is a #375 with the perforations trimmed away on the right side. Reference material used:
