Lot Description |
W. Wallace Cleland in his 1985 Specialist article (Vol
56, #7, Whole #665) cites Philip Ward in the May 1, 1920 Mekeel's Weekly Stamp
News (pg. 226) that a total of 30 coils of 500 were reeled in two batches , one
made in February and the other in April, 1909.
This stamp is evidence that Ward's statement that two batches of #356 coils were
in fact made. Unfortunately there is no hard evidence in the form of BEP orders for two
batches known at
this time.
As always comments and suggestions are always welcome.
