  • Professional Stamp Experts Certificate #01051286 (May 25, 2006 as pair), Opinion states: "Genuine coil pair #356"

  • Philatelic Foundation Certificate #7998 (1956 as pair), Opinion states: "It is a genuine unused, o.g., hinged, coil pair with a paste-up at the right and gum soaked perfs at the upper left."

VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A SCARCE ORIGINAL-GUM PASTE-UP SINGLE OF THE 10-CENT PERF 12 HORIZONTAL COIL WITH A PLATE NUMBER ON THE PASTE-UP TAB. With 2010 P.S.E. certificate (OGh, VF-XF 85; SMQ $2,550.00)
Matthew Bennett International 12/16-19/2007 325 1988 $4,025 1909 , 10¢ yellow coil (356), pair with paste-up at right, exceedingly well centered, luxurious color, original gum; some gum soaked perfs at upper left, some perf separations reinforced, still fresh and Extremely Fine. Scott $7,000, Expertization: 1956 P.F. & 2006 P.S.E. Certificates.

Neither of the two older certificates mentions that the tab has plate number 4944.  The pair in the Matthew Bennett auction was broken up into two singles before the Siegel Auction.  Click here to see the original pair and the current single.
